Maximize Auction Profits With Effective ImagesNo matter what you are selling on eBay, you should always upload at least one photograph, and depending on the particular item, the more photographs you upload the better. No matter how accurate and detailed your written descriptions are, it's the photographs that will really grab the buyers attention and ultimately decide if they will place a bid or not.Depending on the type of item you are selling, you may be able to use stock images, like CD, or DVD covers. I would strongly disagree with this, if you take an original photograph of the CD and cover, it will reassure your potential customers that you item is in fact in your possession. If the item you are selling has flaws, then make sure you photograph these too. You should always be absolutely honest when it comes to listing your items. If there are flaws or faults, your customers are entitled to know. Always take your photographs in the lightest environment possible. Although your camera may have flash, it will often produce unwanted glare and reflections. Place your item against a white backdrop; a curtain or sheet will be fine. This will make the item the main focus point and will help to keep the photograph sharp. Once you have transferred the photographs to your computer you should crop and resize them for use with eBay. Use a photo-editing program to resize the image, also play around with the contrast and brightness to display the item in it's best light. Try to keep the size of the photos to a bare minimum, without reducing the quality too much. Personally, I reduce the dimensions of all my images to around 400x300 pixels, and try to keep the file size below 60kb. Always save your images as .jpeg files, you will this to be most suitable and will allow your images to be downloaded quickly when your listing is displayed. Add Multiple Photos For Free With a little HTML knowledge you can add more photos and pictures all over your eBay listings for no additional charges. All you need is some web space to upload the photographs, usually your Internet host provides with you an allocation of web space for personal use, and this will probably be enough. If however, you do not have access to web space you can use a free service such as the Photobucket or VillagePhotos websites to upload your images. If you are uploading your images to your own web space you should create a new folder, something simple like "images" will be fine. This is where you will upload all your photos ready to use on eBay. To make the additional photos appear in your eBay listing you will need to add a little HTML code, don't worry though, it's nothing complicated, and it's only one line of code. All you need to do is replace the "your..." text with the actual address and location of your photo. Make sure you enter the location correctly and test the link, as nothing will drive potential buyers away from more than a broken link. |
